Selamat bercuti hujung minggu, memandangkan keadaan
jerebu yang melanda, elakan aktiviti luar, kecuali kerana
terpaksa, perlu memakai penutup hidung.
Setiap tahun, Malaysia dan negara di sekitarnya seperti Singapura
pasti dilanda jerebu teruk sekitar Januari – Februari dan Jun – Ogos.
Puncanya, sebagaimana tahun-tahun sebelumnya, kebakaran terbuka
di Sumatera, Indonesia. Berdasarkan pantauan titik panas di laman
Badan Meterologi Klimatologi Geofisika milik Indonesia, terdapat
123 titik panas di Sumatera pada 15 Jun 2013.
Setakat ini, beberapa kawasan di Johor, Melaka dan Selangor telah
mengalami indeks pencemaran udara (IPU) melebihi 100, yang dianggap
tidak sihat. IPU di Singapura pula telah mencecah 401 pada 21 Jun 2013,
tahap yang sangat merbahaya. Orang ramai dinasihatkan agar mengambil
langkah-langkah pencegahan bagi mengurangkan kesan buruk terhadap
kesihatan termasuk mengurangkan aktiviti luar rumah dan menggunakan
penutup hidung dan mulut yang sesuai.
