M'sians abroad are frustrated with the result.  Some claimed that 'democracy has died in M'sia'.
Sorry Arzlee,What you written above is the disappointments(overseas Malaysian) with what happening in Egypt. Is Malaysia with its Hudud falling to the dark ages too.?It is the dark age.

off topic sikit saya ni.I felt leaders forget that they are here for the masses. Not for the almighty.Almighty is already in charged.A lot of people don't have this merits ,that merits.Leaders too.Why put leaders/experts on a pedestal.?We all are no experts. That is the beauty of democracy.

Truth cannot be represented. It need the experience of the experience.Social workers are social workers. They are no experts. The experience are. That the evidence, that the prove ....not the theory we learn in class. That is why in Christianity the looking after the less fortunate is not about lecturing,,,it is looking after the less fotunate...no indoctrination of any sorts is needed.I learned.

the idea (idea not a revelation) is to have the unrepresented represented....not the expert.Even handicap need an handicap presented not an able body expert.A prostitute need a prostitute represented. Not an alim.

.. e.g. the posts of an engineer, town planner, architech, etc need to meet certain criteria & go thru selection done by few wise people, not by majority voice of kampung folk or people in a province, or majority voice of employees in an institution.

We got too obsessed with 'democracy' introduced by the West. To some situation, time & places, it may, or may not work at all.

Do 'democracy' introduced by US in some countries bring more peace or destruction?

Again, I personally think to some situation, time & places, 'democracy' may, or may not work at all.

It seems that the voice/opinion of majority always got it wrong. God confimed that in the Quran, anyway.

Wallahua'lam..

"When every important job in the world is through selection according to some criteria, why the most important job-holders should be elected by unqualified MAJORITY rather than being selected by a wise minority? "

Stupid tyrant ....this(your) argument is self defeating. It easy to reply these religious fools...ask the prove.

Salam,

M'sians abroad are frustrated with the result.  Some claimed that 'democracy has died in M'sia'.

Is it?

No. Not at all.

You are still witnessing democracy system here.

Your grievances should be at the 'democratic system' itself. The system that we adopted from the West - is a FAILURE.

Democracy may work or may not always work, in order to arrive to the best decision & objective.

One or two wisemen who give good idea, can be easily denied by a majority of fools.

That's the way how majority voice (democracy) or can mislead the nation/ummah to failures.

Even the Quran does not seem to envisage a pure DEMOCRATIC POLITICAL SYSTEM based on the will of the MAJORITY but a MERITOCRATIC ISLAMIC REPUBLIC.

According to the Quran, MAJORITY of the people in the world do not believe that what has been revealed by their Lord to the Last Messenger is the Ultimate Truth [11:17; 13:1].

MAJORITY of the people in the world do not have knowledge that the Ultimate Command/Rule/Judgement rests with Allah alone, and that they should serve Him alone; and that is the Right way of life/Deen [12:40].

Even the MAJORITY of those who consider themselves the Believers in Allah, are committers of some kind of SHIRK, and associate partners with Him [12:106].

Also, MAJORITY of the people do not truly believe that they have to meet their Lord one day (and will be held accountable for their deeds) [30:8].

Furthermore, MAJORITY of the people are nothing but as cattle that neither appropriately use their senses nor reason [7:179; 25:44].

Then why this cattle-like ignorant MAJORITY of the people should be allowed to impose their chosen individuals on all the people, to rule or to legislate or to ordain what is lawful and what is not lawful for all?

How can opinion or choice of a philosopher or scholar or a wise man be equal to that of a layman or ignorant?

When every important job in the world has some eligibility qualification, why not the legislators should have any eligibility criteria?

When every important job in the world is through selection according to some criteria, why the most important job-holders should be elected by unqualified MAJORITY rather than being selected by a wise minority?

Wallahualam..
